Tender out to deliver Barangaroo Ferry HubThree organisations have been shortlisted and invited to tender for the construction of the new Barangaroo Ferry Hub – Ertech Pty Ltd, McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd and Waterway Constructions Pty Ltd.Barangaroo is expected to accommodate up to 23,000 office workers and attract up to 33,000 visitors per day when complete, and the ferry hub will be a vital connection to this key destination.The contract includes the construction of two ferry wharves featuring fully accessible pontoons, seated waiting areas, weather protection, real-time service information and electronic ticketing using the Opal card. A third wharf will be constructed in the future when demand increases.Subject to planning approval and contract award, construction of the Barangaroo Ferry Hub is expected to begin in the middle of this year and open to customers in 2016.The Property Council welcomes the Barangaroo development as pivotal to helping Sydney remain a global city.To see the media release click here.
