Sydney UAPs plannedThree Urban Activation Precincts (UAPs) will be introduced around train stations on Sydney’s North-West Rail Line, helping to facilitate population growth in the city’s west and bringing together jobs, housing and transport. The Property Council states that the scale of investment in the new rail line is unprecedented and that it makes sense to leverage off it with new hotspots for growth. Lifting densities around station precincts will improve housing yield from targeted sites and help enhance housing supply, choice and affordability, it contends.Councils will need to play their part if the new hotspots are to become the vibrant centres they are intended to be. And a sustained program of delivering on the UAPs is needed, too, if Sydney is to close the housing supply gap, notes the Property Council. To find out more, visit www.propertyoz.com.au/Article/Resource.aspx?p=21&media=2439
