Sustainability a focus at OneOneFive Hamilton Hill

The State Government’s development arm and Property Council WA Corporate Partner, DevelopmentWA, has launched an innovative new estate being developed in Perth’s South West on the site of the former Hamilton Senior High School.

Located just off Stock Road, OneOneFive Hamilton Hill will provide around 232 residential lots, including a wide range of product including traditional single residential houses, terrace housing, mirco lots as well as four grouped housing sites.

Last week’s launch of OneOneFive Hamilton Hill coincided with a presentation to Property Council WA’s Sustainability Committee, where DevelopmentWA’s team provided an overview of the environmental considerations OneOneFive has already taken into account.

Committee members heard how the site will retain its existing topography which will allow for different types of product to be built for prospective homebuyers. Retention of the existing site’s bush footprint to the south will also keep it’s green corridor along Forrest Road, linking to Bibra Lake in the east.

In addition to increasing the current site’s tree canopy, the project will utilise 95% of materials taken from the old school in its landscaping and road base. More than 85% of that material was crushed on site, allowing for a direct re-use of those material stockpiles and reducing the number of truck movements between the site and existing crushing plants across the Perth Metropolitan Area.

Water sensitive design, including work with other State Government agencies including Water Corporation, will seek to maximise water efficiency at the development, adding to its credentials as a sustainable development catering for changing buyer preferences and different sustainability criteria.
