Sunshine Plaza Site Tour

The Sunshine Plaza site tour took place on 5 October 2018, providing event attendees with an exclusive look at the shopping centre’s $400 million redevelopment.

The shopping centre extension will allow an expansion from 73,000m² to 107,000m², delivering over 100 speciality stores, including a new David Jones department store and BIG W. The site will also deliver Australia’s first high ropes course which hangs over the major shopping centre.

During the event, attendees heard from Michael Manwaring, Centre Manager for Lendlease, who provided a contextual overview of the project and motivations for the significant investment from Lendlease. Rory Bestic, Senior Development Manager for Lendlease, talked attendees through details of the redevelopment, and finally, Nick Dasin from Trees Adventure sparked a huge amount of interest with his presentation on the high ropes course.

Attendees then donned full PPE and undertook a behind-the-scenes, guided tour of the construction site.
