Strata Titles Reform The Property Council has long lobbied for a modern strata system that is an enabler to redevelopment and housing affordability. We were was pleased to see a recent Parliamentary Committee examine strata title law reform, as the current law is a barrier to infill and modernising ageing strata stock. The submission made by the Property Council to the South Australian parliament focussed on bringing our law up to speed with other jurisdictions, such as New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and Singapore, which allows for the cancellation of a strata scheme if a majority of owners agree (rather than the state of play in South Australia where unanimous agreement is needed). Our submission can be found here.
