Strata Reforms WelcomedThe Property Council of Australia welcomes the release of the WA Strata Titles Act Reform Consultation Paper. The paper includes a raft of much needed initiatives to permit more innovative and efficient property developments, including the introduction of community titles for the first time in Western Australia.”Community titles will encourage larger scale precinct-style housing development to occur in WA, similar to other states. This includes more mixed use development around suburban centres and strategic infrastructure investments like train stations,” said Joe Lenzo, Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia.”It is very important that we modernise WA’s antiquated strata laws as increasing numbers of people choose to live in strata properties, including apartments and townhouses.””The reforms proposed in this discussion paper follow an extensive period of constructive consultation with industry and the community, and we look forward to their implementation.”
