Strata Reform
The following is an update on achieving Strata Reform in Western Australia. The proposed strata reforms aim to provide more flexible and sustainable housing options to benefit strata owners, residents, tenants, investors and developers.
The Property Council has worked alongside government to provide industry feedback and support on the draft reforms. Property Council has submitted recommended amendments on the following draft legislation: Seller Disclosure and Dispute Resolution and Staged Strata Developments.
The next step for the State Government is the publication of draft reforms for public comment on Community Title Schemes, Leasehold Strata and Termination of Schemes.
The reforms for which early drafts have been released will significantly improve Strata legislation and the running of Strata schemes. These include:
