State Taxation Acts Amendment Bill 2015 Inquiry

The Victorian Government’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee is undertaking an inquiry into the State Taxation Acts Amendment Bill 2015, which introduces increased rates of stamp duty and land tax on the purchase and holding of Victorian properties by international investors.

The inquiry will be looking at the likely effect of the Bill on housing supply and housing affordability. It will be holding hearings in the coming weeks, before presenting its report around 23 June.

The Property Council will be presenting evidence to the inquiry.
