State Audit of Building Cladding
The Building Commission in WA is broadening its audit of aluminium composite panels following the Grenfell Tower fire in London.
The new audit scope includes all high-risk, high-rise buildings in WA that have cladding attached. Permit authority records will be used to identify buildings that require further assessment.
The Building Commission will assess whether the cladding on all high-risk, high-rise buildings meets the requirements of the Building Code of Australia.
The Property Council is representing building owners in a government stakeholder group to assist in identifying which buildings fall within the scope of the audit and to provide building owners with important information and updates on the progress of the audit.
The audit is being carried out in cooperation with State Government agencies such as the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Department of Communities.
The Property Council will keep members up to date as the audit progresses. If you would like more information contact WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella on [email protected] or 0417 1 974.
