Standard Development Contributions bill introduced in Victorian ParliamentLegislation establishing a new framework for standard development contributions for local infrastructure has been introduced into the Victorian Parliament.The Planning and Environment Amendment (Infrastructure Contributions and Other Matters) Bill 2014 introduces a new system for levying contributions towards the provision of works, services, facilities and plan preparation costs in relation to the development of land in areas where an infrastructure plan applies. The Property Council has been engaged with the Victorian Government’s reform of development contributions since Minister Guy announced the process in 2011. This has included several rounds of consultation, which culminated in the announcement of a reformed framework for Infrastructure Contributions in May 2014.
