South Perth in the Spotlight

The Property Council has succeeded in gaining media attention on the proposed changes to the South Perth planning scheme.

Talking to the West Australian, Joe Lenzo said: “South Perth has been perceived as a leader in orderly planning and infill development and Amendment 46 will set a poor example to other councils that are struggling to achieve their infill housing targets.”

“The proposed Amendment 46 would remove 16% of land development in South Perth while putting significant restrictions on building heights.

“This would threaten more than $240 million in direct construction investment costing an estimated 8000 direct and indirect jobs,” Lenzo said.

The Property Council will continue to follow the issue closely and advocate on behalf of our members.
