South east urban development strategy announcedNew measures to enable urban development in Melbourne’s south-eastern growth corridor have been announced by the Government.The south-eastern growth corridor is one of four urban development areas, allowing for up to 3,000 new households, which is part of a program to provide for Melbourne’s population growth to 2030.Implementation of this strategy will include conditions for biodiversity conservation, including measures to protect species such as the southern brown bandicoot. The Property Council has worked closely with Government on the development of Corridor Plans and Biodiversity Strategies which support the opportunities this announcement will bring.
