South East Queensland Regional Plan delayedIn positive news for the property industry, the Property Council this week received confirmation that the review of the South East Queensland Regional Plan (SEQRP) has been delayed until after the election. This delay and expansion of the review will allow the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDIP) to investigate those key issues raised by the Property Council, namely:Integration of the State infrastructure plan and the land use planning frameworkAn integrated Commonwealth/State approach to koala protectionConsideration of additional areas for urban growth, andA framework to ensure planning schemes reflect urban growth areas in a timely manner.Considering the level of engagement undertaken by the Property Council with DSDIP, Members of Parliament and the Regional Planning Committee, we are delighted to see the review process has been delayed to ensure our industry’s concerns are being addressed. We will endeavour to keep members updated on further announcements.
