Smart lift media grabs attentionThe days of reading yesterday’s news while riding the office lift are over, as Executive Channel Network rolls out its new smart lift media player technology around Australia.A digital communication business providing real-time news and information both in lifts and foyers, ECN has recently upgraded 35-plus buildings with its new Smart Lift Media Player (SLMP).According to Charles Parry-Okeden, ECN’s global chief executive officer, the SLMP technology can be integrated into any lift, in any building.”The software is completely customisable, can be adapted to suit any building or lift brand, and property managers can deliver content to the screens in near real time,” Parry-Okeden says.SLMP is also super-fast to install and highly cost-effective, adds chief operating officer, Justin Kingston.”Where we once took a week to install screens into a building lift, now it’s taking us less than a day. “The technology is seamless, and everything is managed remotely. If repairs need to occur, 90 per cent can be done remotely from our control centre without building or lift company involvement,” Kingston explains.”It’s a giant leap forward in technology, and we are continuing to invest heavily in R&D to ensure we stay ahead of the technological innovation curve.”Partnerships with leading content sources ensure that ECN can stream dynamic news content 24 hours a day, while feeds from the ASX provide up-to-date market data. Internal communication concerning tenant information, operational messages and sustainability within the building, as well as leasing opportunities, can also be displayed.”We undertake an enormous amount of research with building tenants to understand how they engage with the media and the type of content they want. For instance, we know office workers like stock market updates, but they also want to check out the weather and get live sports updates,” Parry-Okeden explains.Lendlease has recently chosen ECN as its media partner for the new International Towers Sydney development at Barangaroo on Sydney Harbour. The technology has been rolled out in Tower 2, with Towers 1 and 3 expected to boast SLMP screens by the end of 2016.”Westpac is the anchor tenant at Tower 2, so we have tailored the content package towards business and finance news,” says Kingston.ECN’s ongoing research has found 97 per cent of tenants notice the screens on a daily basis, with 78 per cent agreeing that the network improves their lift waiting experience. More than one in three people actually discuss the content with their co-workers.ECN has installed digital solutions in more than 3 buildings around Australia, and another 2 in England, France, Germany and the Netherlands.”Where once a tenant would only notice a lift’s digital screens when they weren’t working, SLMP is getting building users’ attention and delivering the information they want to see,” Kingston concludes.Find out more about Executive Channel Network and its new Smart Lift Media Player.
