Short-Term Letting ‘Code of Conduct’ floated
The State Government is responding to changes in Queensland’s short-term letting sector with plans to introduce a ‘Code of Conduct’, particularly focused on regulating accommodation listed on peer-to-peer and sharing platforms.
Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development, Kate Jones, explained, “after a productive discussion with the industry reference group yesterday, what’s clear is the need for a clear set of guidelines to promote respect among hosts and guests here in Queensland.”
Ms Jones said huge growth has been seen in the short-term letting sector, which presents great opportunities for Queensland’s tourism industry.
The industry reference group is expected to provide a list of recommendations for government before the end of the year.
