Extremely unstable weather conditions return

  • Residents of SEQ asked to stay home for next 24-48 hours
  • Flooded properties expected to flood again

The Queensland Government has issued an urgent warning for SEQ, with severe weather conditions particularly expected to affect Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Bundaberg. Parents in Moreton Bay are being asked to pick up their children from school as soon as possible.

With saturated catchments, expected high winds, large hail and risk of flash flooding, many properties that were flooded over the past week are expected to flood again.

Those undertaking clean-up activities at flooded properties are being asked to pause these activities.

Residents are being asked to stay home until on Friday, and only leave home if necessary.

Transport – When it becomes safe to travel, the Queensland Government has announced free public transport across SEQ to support the flood recovery and CBD businesses that have struggled over the last two years.

All toll roads in Brisbane are now free until midnight Sunday March 6 to assist drivers who are navigating road closures.
