SEQ City Deal Reports Released

The State Government has released two reports which will inform the foundation of a proposed South East Queensland City Deal.

The reports have been commissioned by the Queensland Government’s Cities Transformation Taskforce – an office established to drive the development of a City Deal with the other levels of government.

SEQ Benchmarking Report examines the relative economic, environmental and social performance of SEQ against nine overseas regions with similar-sized economies.

SEQ Economic Foundations Paper, produced in conjunction with SEQ local governments, provides a detailed analysis of the sectors that will drive the growth of SEQ’s traded economy and a thematic overlay of the SEQ region’s economic corridors, clusters and urban growth fronts.

The Property Council supports and is a proponent of the UK ‘City Deal’ model, and was actively involved in the preparation and implementation of Australia’s first City Deal in Townsville.

The Property Council is encouraging further collaboration on a City Deal for South East Queensland.
