Edge Recruitment has been appointed by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) to assist in the process of recruiting three pivotal, senior roles within the property directorate. Edge Recruitment’s appointment can be credited to their significant experience in the placement of senior property roles within State Government and their specialist knowledge of the property industry in South Australia. The recruitment process will begin immediately and Edge Recruitment are accepting applications prior to close of business on Friday 11 December 2015.

The Organisation

DPTI serves the South Australian community by providing safe, effective and efficient planning, transport and infrastructure networks across the state and facilitating development of the State’s Infrastructure, in accordance with South Australia’s Strategic Plan and the State Infrastructure Plan.

The Roles

Reporting to the General Manager – Property within the Development Division of DPTI these roles are senior leadership roles responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of property professionals within each specific area.

  • The Manager – Accommodation and Client Services covers client strategy and relationship management, lease negotiations, lease management and employee housing for the whole of Government as well as property services for the department.
  • The Manager – Portfolio and Strategic Services covers ownership and portfolio management responsibilities including property strategies, heritage and significant property issues, complex disposal strategies, significant contamination and environmental responsibilities along with the full spectrum of real estate support functions.
  • The Manager – Acquisitions manages and leads professional teams delivering strategic and operational acquisition programs including policy and process setting, property governance and acquisition strategies.  Further the role is responsible and accountable for all operational and capital expenditure involved in major project acquisition programs.

The People

As senior leaders the successful applicants will have extensive management and leadership experience within significant sized professional teams in either the private or government sectors. The positions require experience in complex organisational structures and the ability to deal with significant political and operational complexity and ambiguity. Also required is extensive experience and demonstrable excellence in leading and delivering strategic outcomes and high level client services with excellent leadership, relationship and management skills.

Experience in a property related environment is preferred and tertiary qualifications in property, business, planning, law or commerce will be highly regarded.

A significant remuneration package commensurate with experience and capabilities will be negotiated with the successful applicants.
