Second Growth Areas Team Pilot Site announced

On 25 June the Deputy Premier announced Southern Redland Bay as the second Growth Areas Team (GAT) pilot site. The State Government is co-investing with Lendlease in a staged delivery of a $30 million wastewater treatment plant. It is expected this site will deliver 00 lots. This infrastructure delivery will also service Lendlease’s master planned community ‘Shoreline’, which is adjacent to the pilot site area.

The funding for the co-investment is loan funding from the Government’s Building Acceleration Fund (BAF) and is expected to provide additional jobs in the area. Construction on this water treatment plant is expected to commence in late 2021 with the Redland City Council operating and maintaining the treatment plant.

The Property Council is supportive of this announcement and looks forward to hearing from the State Government on future pilot sites and BAF announcements.
