Q: What time do you start work each day?
A: It varies, usually around 8am, earlier if there are multiple deadlines to meet or breakfast event/meeting to attend that day.
Q: How much time do you spend on social media each week?
A: Not enough, but I am learning to embrace Linkedin and Twitter.
Q: What’s the funniest piece of advice you’ve been given in your career?
A: One mentor once told me to ‘bite off more than you can chew and chew hard!’ Another more recently told me to ‘lady-up’ (as opposed to ‘man-up’) when I kept procrastinating about an important task.
Q:What is the best piece of advice you would give to an aspiring young women in the property industry?
A: Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance. Proactively seek out at least one mentor who will support and encourage you to take the next step in your career. Personal growth is about getting outside your comfort zone.
Q: Sum up your job in 3 words.
A: Making a difference
Q: If you weren’t a ‘waste management consultant/small business owner’ what would you do and why?
A: It’s hard to say as I can’t really think of anything else I’d rather do. If I wasn’t working for myself, I’d probably be working for someone else in a similar line of work.
Q: What made you choose your career path?
A: A combination of my general interest in the environment, the impacts waste has on our environment, the endless opportunities to avoid/minimise waste, no day is ever the same and it’s an area where I never stop learning about business, the environment and people.
