SA CitySwitch 2017 Partnership of the Year
When the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) relocated 900 staff, previously operating at seven different city locations, into the 35-year old former ATO building on Waymouth Street, they determined to not only achieve a 40% reduction in leased floor space but also to demonstrate sustainability best practice.
A collaborative and highly effective partnership for the retrofit of the building was achieved through an Early Contractor Engagement Process, involving the building owner, Schiavello as the fitout and base building upgrade contractor, and DEWNR as the tenant.
Through a comprehensive and cost effective methodology, a 6 star Green Star interiors rating from the Green Building Council of Australia was targeted and achieved. The building will also achieve a 5 star NABERS energy and water rating during occupancy.
Congratulations to Schiavello and the SA Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources for being awarded both the SA CitySwitch 2017 Partnership of the Year and being acknowledged with a Highly Commended Award at the 2017 National CitySwitch Awards that were held in Sydney on 28 November 2017.
