Review of the Building Professionals Act 2005Former NSW Treasury Secretary, Michael Lambert is to undertake a review of the Building Professionals Act 2005 (the Act). The Act establishes the Building Professionals Board and provides for the accreditation, regulation and making of complaints against accredited certifiers.Mr Lambert is to consider whether the policy objectives of the Act are still valid and whether there are new policy objectives that should be pursued. He is also to consider whether there are other policy objectives relating to building regulation generally that should be pursued. The review presents an opportunity to deal with the broader issues relating to building regulation reform discussed in the IPART reviews into Licence Rationale and Design and Local Government Compliance and Enforcement and in other reports or enquiries. If you have any feedback you would like to contribute to a submission the review please contact Evelyn Subagio at the Property Council on 02 9033 1909 or [email protected] access the media release and the terms of reference for the review click here.
