Review of Internal Dispute Resolution Processes – Retirement Villages Act 1986Consumer Affairs Victoria has commenced a review of dispute resolution processes under the Retirement Villages Act 1986.The review comprises an examination of the internal and external complaint handling and dispute resolution processes, and represents the last stage of a multi-part review of the RV Act.While dispute resolution processes in retirement villages was an area of focus for the Parliamentary Inquiry into the retirement housing sector, CAV has advised that is has specific questions relating to the internal dispute resolution process beyond those being considered by the inquiry. As part of the review, CAV has proposed stakeholder consultations in early 2017, which will support the development of an options paper identifying opportunities for improvement. The Property Council looks forward to participating in the review over the coming months and representing its members’ views and concerns to the CAV.
