Revenue Legislation Amendment Bill

The Property Council has provided a submission to the Economics and Governance Committee’s inquiry into the Queensland Government’s Revenue and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2018.

The Bill aims to modernise the application of various Acts in line with technological advances, and to give retrospective legislative effect to several minor administrative arrangements that have formed part of standard practice.

The Property Council’s submission offered support to the Bill, particularly for measures aimed at facilitating the expansion of electronic conveyancing in Queensland. Electronic conveyancing delivers a range of benefits for parties transacting property in Queensland and the broader Queensland economy.

A final report from the Committee will be tabled by 5 October 2018.
