Retirement villages missing out againThe South Australian Government is discriminating against people moving into retirement villages by excluding them from accessing the $8,0 Seniors Housing Grant, announced in the 2014 June Budget. The Seniors Housing Grant: a one off payment up to $8,0, available to persons, aged over 60, who are purchasing or building a new home valued up to $400,000 and will phase out for eligible homes valued up to $4,000. The Property Council is confident that the exclusion of retirement village residents from the grant is a technical oversight and it has written to the state Treasurer to commence discussions about the matter.
