Retirement Living Seminar Review

The Property Council’s Retirement Living Seminar this week in Perth covered a range of topical issues including critically needed reforms to unlock diverse housing supply for seniors.

David Smith, Safety Director General, Department of Mines, Industry Regulation opened the seminar informing the audience of a raft of reforms that are being considered to transform the retirement living sector.

The conference included an interesting presentation by Director of Sales at Village Solutions, Sigrid Adams who discussed the importance of keeping your village maintenance program in a constant state of improvement.

Manager from HUR Australia Ari Kallinen discussed the benefits of the Helsinki Program for the Health and Wellbeing of Village Residents which was followed by a lively panel discussion on hurdles and opportunities in delivering home care to seniors in a deregulated market.

Mark Offenburg from Commonwealth bank discussed what is considered when buying and selling a retirement living asset. Partner at Jackson McDonald, Simon Moen put a lens over key reforms that will address current industry issues and possible solutions to be considered.

National Leader of Retirement and Aged Care from GHDWOODHEAD, Craig Muir provided some fantastic insights and imaginary on integrated designs sites that cater for residents with different levels of abilities and care requirements.
