Retirement living revolutionisedThe retirement living complex Mark Moran Vaucluse taking shape in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is an industry first and will have more in common with a luxury cruise ship than the traditional model.Full of unique components from first class architectural and interior design to working orchards and apiaries, the project is the most ambitious of its type ever undertaken in the country and will literally turn the retirement field on its head. “We are committed to creating youthful environments where people can enjoy life to the full,” Mark Moran said. “Our philosophy is Live Younger Longer and the unique components within our Vaucluse complex fit this perfectly – and most significantly many have never before been integrated within a retirement setting.”The Mark Moran Group is well-equipped to break new ground, having six decades of experience creating high-quality developments for seniors. Earlier this year the group’s retirement centre Little Bay NSW won Best Facility in Asia at the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2014, this region’s most prestigious accolade for seniors and seen as the industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. The award was an enormously significant honour for not only the Mark Moran Group but the Australian industry – and Mark Moran Vaucluse will continue to blaze new paths in the fast evolving area.Among the best in their fields were engaged to create the Vaucluse facility. Leading architects Marchese Partners were engaged to design the state-of-the-art complex that will feature a four-storey atrium and a spectacular rooftop with Palm Spring inspired gardens, a fire pit, and lounges alongside a dance floor overlooking the Sydney skyline.Co-owner Evette Moran said “in order to bring true health we need to focus on the mind body and spirit, which is why the holistic approach is important. Architecture, beautiful interiors, fresh seasonal organic food, lifestyle and care are the basis of our village.”A fine dining restaurant and coffee shop with barista, wellness spa, as well as regular celebrity lecturers are some of the other features within Mark Moran Vaucluse scheduled for completion June 2016.The grounds will be particularly special, with inspired inclusions such as an open piazza, hen house, men’s shed and orchard filled with avocado and citrus trees and a market garden supplying the restaurant with fresh vegetables and herbs.Being built on the old Vaucluse High School site, Mark Moran Vaucluse comprises 95 suites and 14 apartments, including one, two and three-bedroom options being offered in more than a dozen different room plans. The suites and apartments range in price from $695,000 to $4 million plus. First class interiors have been designed by both Evette Moran and well-known celebrity interior designer Shannon Fricke. They will feature such touches as elegant Florence Broadhurst fabrics and Miele appliances in kitchens.Integral in Mark Moran Vaucluse is that it melds with local community and nearby Vaucluse shopping village, which means shuttle buses will run regularly from the development to key Eastern Suburbs’ centres including Watsons Bay and Westfields Bondi Junction.”These lifestyle and design components make it very different to what has gone before,” Mr Moran said.”Our whole philosophy is to allow people to continue and enhance the lifestyle they already live within a vibrant community.”
