Retirement living GST update

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has recently sought feedback on draft guidance relating to GST and residential care and home care.

The purpose of the guidance was to assist providers work out when, and to what extent, supplies are GST-free, and to understand how GST applies to subcontracted services.

The Retirement Living Council lodged a submission in response to this consultation seeking clarity on some items.

Consultation closed on 17 February 2017 and we will keep members up-to-date on the outcomes as they are announced.
