Retail Breakfast: Dawn of the Super Neighbourhood

The Property Council’s Retail Breakfast: Dawn of the Super Neighbourhood took place on Thursday 13 June, with over 420 eager event attendees.

Joanna Russell, General Manager – Retail Development for Frasers Property, opened the series of presentations, with a deep dive into the definition of super neighbourhood and an overview of recent projects that fall under this new category.

Following Joanna, Ralph Kemmler, Director of Property for Woolworths and Alison Shillington, Head of Retail Property for Coles, spoke to their respective organisations, including the latest customer experience techniques, consumer trends and the increasingly important topic of parking convenience.

Ashely Moffat, General Manager- Property Management and Leasing Services for Geon Property, joined the other speakers on stage, for a panel discussion moderated by AMP Capital’s Senior Leasing Executive, Kym Thrift.

The audience-driven panel discussion focused on leasing choices in super neighbourhood centres, and the impacts of online shopping on bricks and mortar assets.
