Response to Minister’s Guidelines and RulesThe Property Council has provided a response to the draft Minister’s Guidelines and Rules developed to support the implementation of the new Queensland planning legislation.While supporting the introduction of the Minister’s Guidelines and Rules, as they provide flexibility for amending planning schemes, the Property Council has outlined a number of concerns including:The ability for local government to propose a minor amendment to include new or amended natural hazard mappingClarification of the process for reviewing, making or amending a local government infrastructure planGreater certainty surrounding the valuation methodology for infrastructure requirementsWith the new planning legislation due to commence in early July 2017, the Property Council is encouraging the Government to ensure the final version of all supporting instruments complement and facilitate the underlying reform objectives.
