Resort goes west
More than 70 people attended the Property Council’s Western Corridor lunch to learn more about Dusit Thani’s Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort development.
Richard Turner, Joint Managing Director & Executive Vice Chairman – World Group, provided an insight into the decision to invest $5 million in Australia, explaining that after four years of hunting for the best location the level of infrastructure, proximity to a capital city, and distance between two international airports were the driving forces for selecting Greater Springfield.
This is Dusit Thani’s first development in Australia with the luxury brand set to deliver the project over five stages. The first stage will include 168 resort apartments, recreation club, pools, resort clubhouse and wedding chapel. Overall the development with feature 520 resort apartments, an international tennis stadium, water park and aquatic centre.
Our second guest speaker was Raynuha Sinnathamby, Managing Director – Springfield Land Corporation, who provided a presentation on projects that have occurred and future projects that will shape Greater Springfield, including the $72 million GE State Headquarters recently opened by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
The subsequent panel discussion moderated by Chris Mountford, Executive Director – Property Council of Australia, explored the ideal location of Springfield in capitalising on the ever-increasing Chinese tourism market.
During the panel discussion, Richard also used the opportunity to announce the establishment of Dusit College- a hospitality training facility that will be co-located with the resort, and will provide first class hospitality training opportunities for the local community.
The Property Council would like to sincerely thank our guest speakers Richard Turner and Raynuha Sinnathamby. Special thanks must also go to our sponsor of the Western Corridor event series, Springfield Land Corporation, without their support the series would not be possible.
