Residential Zones State of Play
The State Government’s Managing Residential Development Taskforce has prepared Residential Zones State of Play reports for each of the Plan Melbourne Metropolitan subregions and one combined report for the four regional cities of Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong and Latrobe.
These reports are part of the State Government’s review of residential zone changes, introduced under the previous government.
The Taskforce has compiled list based suggestions from a number of sources including local government, industry bodies, submissions and the recommendations of the Residential Zones Standing Advisory Committee.
The reports are available online and include demographic and population data as well as a breakdown of land zoned for residential development, future housing supply and anticipated residential growth.
We are committed to achieving a better planning and development framework that manages growth in Victoria and ensures that housing affordability, choice and diversity are no constrained by short term policy reactions.
Submissions are open to the public and can be made online until 5pm on Monday 29 February 2016.
