Regimental Change for Women

  • July 16, 2015

Regimental Change for WomenProperty is a traditionally male-dominated industry with a significant under-representation of females at executive levels. The Property Council and approximately 22 senior leaders in the industry are involved in the Property Male Champions of Change (PMCC) initiative that aims to drive gender equality. As part of the drive to disrupt the status quo, we are not only looking at how the property industry is championing change, but also how other sectors have successfully moved towards more inclusive workforces. At our upcoming luncheon event next Friday 24 July, Regimental Change for Women, we will hear from Lieutenant General David Morrison AO, former Chief of Army, on how he managed to introduce flexible workplace policies and drive changes in the similarly male-dominated armed forces. Lt Gen Morrison is known internationally for his hard line commitment to inclusivity and his strong position on unacceptable cultural behaviour. Joining Lt Gen Morrison will be well-known industry leader, Ming Long, another recognised champion of cultural change within the property industry. Ming is Group Executive – IOF Fund Manager at Investa Property Group and helped establish the PMCC, when as the only woman at the table in most high level meetings, she realised the need to champion diversity in senior management positions. Moderating the discussion will be Kathy Mac Dermott, COO of the Property Council. Events such as this form part of the Property Council’s commitment to promoting diversity in the industry, and they provide an avenue for you and your colleagues to learn more about the PMCC initiative.
