Reef Protection Regulatory Impact Statement

A Regulatory Impact Statement for enhancing reef protection regulations has be re-released by the State Government for public consultation.

Previous consultation on the document was suspended due the State Election. No significant changes have been incorporated in the document since this time.

Proposals investigated in the RIS include introducing a new requirement to offset the impacts of urban development on water quality, based on load limits established for each of the Reef’s catchments.

Submissions will close on Monday, 19 February 2018. The Property Council will be providing a response on behalf of the industry.
