Queensland Submission SnapshotOver the last fortnight, the Property Council has submitted to the State Government on two key areas crucial to the industry’s future.Proposed new Coastal Management DistrictThe Property Council’s submission on the proposed new Coastal Management District (CMD) highlighted particular concern on how the CMD and the recently released coastal hazard area mapping for the erosion prone area (EPA) and storm tide inundation area (STIA) will take effect through the land use planning framework. The submission emphasised the need for coastal planning requirements to be developed in conjunction with the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning within the existing policy framework to ensure the land use planning implications are considered in a holistic manner.Queen’s Wharf PDAThe Property Council has submitted to the State Government, supporting the designation of Queen’s Wharf as a Priority Development Area and the proposed development scheme, which will facilitate the transformation of this underutilised section of the CBD into an iconic, globally recognized tourism and mixed-use precinct, which will be of benefit to all Queenslanders.
