A new planning framework to guide future development within the Oxley PDA came into effect on the 9 August 2019. The 19 hectare site will feature detached housing on large lots, community facilities, recreation areas and green space, preserved bushland, a childcare centre, and retirement living.

A masterplan model for the Yeerongpilly Green renewal project was announced on the 9 August 2019. The 14-hectare development site will feature 28,000sqm of commercial space, an 87sqm retail and dining precinct, and 1.8 hectares of green open space, with 1200 dwellings to be built.

The revised Maroochydore City Centre Development Scheme has been approved. The revised scheme aims to accommodate future population growth in the Sunshine Coast region and assist Council to achieve their urban infill targets set by South East Queensland regional plan.
