Queensland Government Asset Ownership Dividend
The Queensland Government has advised the Property Council of their commitment to reimburse households with a $ Asset Ownership Dividend, aimed at helping residents cope with the rising cost of electricity.
The rebate applies to all Queensland households, and will be provided in credit form to customers’ bills on 30th April 2018. Following this, an additional $ reimbursement will be applied to customers in April 2019.
Exempt sellers are required to notify their retailer of the number of occupied, eligible households within their premises, by mid-April 2018.
Failure to pass on the payment to residents connected to a private embedded electricity network will be considered a breach of the exempt sellers’ exemption conditions with the Australian Energy Regulator.
To be considered eligible, customers must have an open electricity account with the exempt seller or the exempt seller’s billing service provider. Click here for more information on the Asset Ownership Dividend.
