QLD Housing Legislation Amendment Bill passed
Two weeks ago the Queensland Parliament passed the Housing Legislation Amendment Bill 2021, which, inter alia, amends the Retirement Villages Act 1999 to allow a regulation to declare that certain resident-owned freehold village schemes are exempt from the mandatory buyback requirements.
This was an amendment arising from the Exit Entitlement Review Interim Report and pre-election commitment. The RV amendments will commence on royal assent.
