QDESIGN Released
The Department of Housing and Public Works has released a new document to help guide urban design outcomes.
QDESIGN is a blueprint for design practitioners, developers, community representatives and local councils, which aims to articulate examples of good urban design and provide consistency of design throughout Queensland.
The document is consistent with the Urban Design Trigger, introduced in July 2017, to provide the Government with the ability to advise applicants on the suitability of their project’s design, and ensure design contributes positively to the place and region.
QDESIGN will also be followed by QCompanion, a supplementary online design resource that provides ideas and techniques for the translation of the priority design principles.
Further information on QDESIGN is available here.
