Property industry raises $18,000-plus for Mission Australia
WA’s property industry dug deep to raise more than $18,000 as an early Christmas gift for Mission Australia at Property Council WA’s Christmas lunch at Crown last Thursday.
The industry has raised almost $100,000 for Mission Australia over recent years, despite the bumpy ride it has experienced.
Funds raised at Property Council WA’s Christmas Party go to Mission Australia’s Christmas Lunch in the Park in Wellington Square.
Property Council WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer said she was proud of the WA industry’s generous contribution.
“Our industry continues to demonstrate concern for others and backs this with donations that can be used to create a community for people without families or networks or means for a hearty meal to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas,” Ms Brewer said.
Property Council WA forged the alliance with Mission Australia in 2017 under an initiative driven by then Property Council WA President Tanya Trevisan.
The tradition continues under current President Scott Nugent. Mission Australia State Director Jo Sadler said Christmas Lunch in the Park depended on the whole community, donors and guests, and showed WA’s commitment to those in need.
Following Thursday’s successful raffle drive for Mission Australia, the Property Council WA team spent Monday out at Foodbank’s depot at Perth Airport, helping to put together over four pallets worth of care packages for those in need and attending the Christmas Lunch in the Park.
