Property greats honoured on Australia Day

Greg Paramor (pictured), former national president of the Property Council, has been awarded an Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours for services to the community and the real estate and property investment industries.

Paramor, who has had a distinguished 35-year career in the property industry, is a director of Folkestone and LJ Hooker. He was CEO of Mirvac Group and co-founded Growth Equities Mutual, Paladin Australia and the James Fielding Group.

He co-founded and is an ambassador for the Property Industry Foundation, which raises money to help youth at risk. Outside the property industry, Paramor is a director of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the National Breast Cancer Foundation and is on the board of the Sydney Swans.

Two other prominent members of the property industry were also honoured on Australia Day.

Lang Walker, founder of Walker Corporation, was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to the community in medical research, healthcare and social welfare and to commerce.

Brian White, Chairman of Ray White Real Estate, was also made an Officer of the Order of Australia for service to business in the real estate, professional services and property industry, as well as to the arts as a patron, supporter and donor.
