Property engagement essentials workshopOn 9 February, the Property Council provided members with a full-day professional development workshop on the increasingly demanding requirements for community engagement in the property industry. The workshop, delivered by Articulous Communications, provided participants with the tools to plan, design and implement best practice stakeholder and community engagement processes.Content throughout the day was targeted to the unique engagement challenges facing the property industry and educated participants of the importance of being champions of good process, irrespective of the project outcome or community response. The workshop provided participants with pre-requisites for the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate of Engagement accreditation. Many local governments are now expecting developers- as well as and their own staff- to address IAP2’s core values of public participation. The day concluded with an analysis of emerging engagement trends including augmented reality, immersive panoramas and ‘gameificiation’, demonstrating the exciting method of consultation that will soon become mainstream practice. The Property Council thanks McCullough Robertson for hosting the professional development workshop and for their ongoing support of across a range of Property Council activities.
