The Property Council sat down with the team at Stork Davies to learn about them and their organisation.
Stork Davies Legal Advisors will embrace the growing move towards a consultancy model in the legal services industry, providing personalised, partner-level access and bespoke legal advice to its clients in the areas of litigation and dispute resolution, construction, property, and general commercial law.
Perth Property Lawyers will provide fast, high-quality property law documents and services on an exclusively fixed-fee basis, with the goal of leveraging off advances in technology to become a leader in the higher-volume end of the market in areas such as commercial leasing.
“Traditional law firms risk being left behind, particularly in practice areas that are commoditisable, as they struggle with falling productivity and intense competition from new firms who are embracing different and more cost-effective ways to provide legal services,” said Stork Davies Legal Advisors and Perth Property Lawyers founder Shannon Davies.
Perth Property Lawyers will initially target commercial leasing agents and property managers, with fixed fees on all documents and services, a transparent low-cost pricing model, and a two business day turnaround guarantee which is unique in Western Australia.
“Traditional law firms can’t be all things to all people and we believe there is enormous value in providing transparent, fixed-fee commercial leasing documents and services, and that both landlords and tenants are going to welcome these changes,” Mr Davies said.
Stork Davies Legal Advisors will provide tailored legal solutions to its growing list of clients, including a practice area specifically aimed at servicing high net wealth families and family offices, whose needs aren’t necessarily well-catered for by the one-size-fits-all approach of many law firms.
“Our bespoke solutions are customised and considered, and this is about two experienced lawyer joining forces and offering something new and innovative in the Perth market,” Mr Davies said.
Mr Davies is well known in corporate and philanthropic circles, having established the Ethan Davies Fellowship after his young son being diagnosed with brain cancer.
“That experience has taught me how to be both resilient and flexible at the same time, while challenging traditional ways of thinking because there is always a better solution out there just waiting to be found,” Mr Davies added.
Both practices have commenced trading from Level 13, 251 Adelaide Terrace, Perth, while new offices are being fitted out across the road at 256 Adelaide Terrace.
