Property Council’s C262 Briefing makes waves

The Property Council’s briefing held on 8 October discussing C262 has received extensive media coverage in the Age and AFR this week. The briefing provided an opportunity for policy makers and stakeholders to come together and discuss the changes and potential ramifications for the city.

One of the biggest issues raised in the forum was the impact on confidence as a result of the interim controls.  Overnight, sites which had millions of dollars spent on planning processes became unviable. The consultants on the panel highlighted that these changes, in combination with other policy conditions, will erode investor confidence in the Melbourne CBD market.

The Property Council looks forward to working with the State Government in this interim period to ensure that Melbourne continues to maintain its liveability and attract investment.
