Project Update Barneson Boulevard and Tiger Brennan Dive Stage 3

Further geotechnical testing for the Barneson Boulevard and Tiger Brennan Drive Stage 3 project is taking place.

This testing is to inform how the soft marine soils will be managed and stabilised for heavy loads.

The work will involve the felling of 1.55 hectares of mangroves on the Barneson Boulevard alignment between
Dinah Beach Road and Harvey Street, as indicated on the below map.
Up to 2.1 hectares of vegetation in total will be cleared for this work, including the mangroves, and some vine
thicket and weeds such as coffee bush.

This work is taking place in accordance with the approvals within the Notice of Intent submitted to the Northern Territory Environmental Protection Authority. The NT EPA considers that the potential impacts and risks can be managed by Change to Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) through appropriate mitigation and management actions. The geotechnical testing will take place in mid to late January for a period of approximately four days.
