Premier to announce Infrastructure WA Launch

Premier Mark McGowan will announce the launch of the much anticipated Infrastructure WA at a Property Council industry breakfast on February 6th.

‘It’s great to see that WA will finally have an strategy to plan WA’s future infrastructure needs and that there will be a new agency to steer these infrastructure needs,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.

‘The experience in other states and nationally with similar bodies, is very positive. There is a more linked-up approach to planning the growth of cities and regional areas as well as industrial zones that are crucial for job creation.

“In the property industry it is crucial that the planning system has a transparent framework for the supporting infrastructure.  It makes it easier to plan ahead and assemble the supporting finance for projects.

“Having Infrastructure WA will also ensure the state has the best chance to access WA’s fair share of infrastructure funding,” Mr Iacomella said.

Premier Mark McGowan will be joined by and expert panel:

  • Nicole Lockwood, Principal Lockwood Advisory

    (Nicole is also Chair Westport Taskforce Steering Committee, Chair Freight and Logistics Council, Infrastructure Australia Board member, Water Corporation Board member, Tourism WA Board member, Deputy Chair Leadership WA Board);

  • Philip Davies, CEO Infrastructure Australia
