Portal for market-led proposalsThe Queensland Government has established a process for accepting and assessing market-led proposals. These types of frameworks have been used successfully interstate to harness the expertise and ingenuity of the private sector to identify and deliver projects that create jobs, economic growth and public benefits. The Property Council has called for the establishment of a comprehensive unsolicited proposals (market-led proposals) framework in Queensland for a number of years and we applaud the Government for introducing a formal process. A copy of our media release can be found here.By establishing a comprehensive process, the private sector is more likely to invest in developing innovative ideas as they will have certainty about how the project will be assessed or handled by the Government. These innovative ideas can cover a wide range of areas that include:delivery of services to or on behalf of government, provision of infrastructure, access to government assets, access to government information, seeking government support to undertake a specific commercial activity. For information on the Government’s process for submitting market-led proposals, including the guidelines for assessment, click here.
