Plumbing and Drainage Bill 2018 submission
The Property Council has responded to the proposed reforms suggested in the Plumbing and Drainage Bill 2018.
The Property Council has extended its support to proposals which are intended to simplify the regulatory system. This includes reforms that allow new product development and the implementation of new construction techniques.
However, the Property Council has called for further consultation on the proposal to regulate or prohibit WaterMark products in Queensland. This amendment will create uncertainty to property industry members, especially ones who operate on a national level.
The Property Council contends that WaterMark should continue to be governed through a Certification Scheme, not through a separate legislative mechanism in Queensland.
