Planning for the Central Coast’s future

A discussion paper on the future of the Central Coast has been released by the NSW Government.

The Central Coast is an intrinsic part of NSW’s development given its rapid population growth and desirability as an area to reside.

An extra 65,000 people are expected to call the Coast home over the next 17 years. This will further add to the large volume of the city’s workforce that already commutes daily from the Coast.

A strategic framework for planning is needed, and the aim of the paper is to seek community feedback on how to:

  • Build more houses to meet future demand
  • Deliver more jobs to meet the region’s needs
  • Improve rail and road access to the region
  • Balance growth with the protection of the region’s environment
  • Protect the lifestyle residents and visitors enjoy.

The Property Council has long advocated for the Central Coast’s inclusion in the city’s regional planning.

Your Future Central Coast is on exhibition until Sunday 16 November 2014.
