PIF fundraising hits 200k
This year’s Property Industry Foundation annual charity ball raised $200,000, a fantastic result for the organisation.
Proceeds from the event will provide funding to contribute to live-in house parents for the PIF House Dundas program.
The national PIF House Program builds homes for at-risk and homeless young people across NSW, Victoria and Queensland. In these homes, carers and counsellors provide support and mentoring to rebuild young lives.
This year PIF is constructing three homes in Sydney that will provide 27 young people with a safe place to sleep and start to build independent lives. In Brisbane, the first PIF House was built in Windsor in 2014 and accommodates five young people plus a live-in carer. PIF has also completed two houses in Melbourne, which provide safe, nurturing homes for up to eight young people at a time.
In the next five years, PIF’s target is to build 125 bedrooms for at-risk and homeless young people and provide them with counselling and life skills to transition to independent living.
The Property Council continues to be a strong supporter of PIF with the NSW branch making the decision to make donations to PIF instead of speaker gifts at our events.
